Acne is caused by a blockage in the hair follicles on your skin and affects at least 85% of teenagers. Acne can also affect those teenagers that appear to be completely fresh faced and can have an effect on you far beyond the cosmetic side of things.
For individuals that are predisposed to acne there is little you can do to prevent this and a family history of acne is a good indication that you may suffer from this, especially during puberty. Acne can also crop up again long after your adolescent years and it some instances thought to be stress related. A more guaranteed study of acne is the presence of an imperfect skin care regime and is a good regime that you could find the best solution for acne.
The main cause of acne, especially in adolescents is the over production of the skins natural oil which is know as sebum and is the reason why acne appears where there is a high concentration of sebaceous glands. Couples with dirt, this creates the ideal conditions for acne to grow therefore regularly washing your face is a great way to tackle the acne head on as this will reduce the concentration of the excess sebum and prevent the growth of acne.
Is some cases acne is know to be inflammatory and a prescribed store bought anti-inflammatory medicine can certainly help a great deal by reducing the itchy and painful suffering. You should always remember to receive medical advise before starting with any medications prior to using them – just to be on the safe side and to ensure you are treating your acne in the most effective way.
